Guti: West Ham want to sign me & we are in negotiations
Former Real Madrid and Spain midfielder Guti has revealed he is negotiations to sign for West Ham United this summer. The 35-year old, who left Madrid after almost 25 years of service for the Santiago Bernabeu side and over 500 appearances for Los Blancos, has been out of action since Turkish team Besiktas agreed to a mutual termination of his contract in November of last year. Since then, the technically gifted midfielder has rejected a number of offers to return to the game, but has revealed that he has been approached by the newly-promoted east Londoners to play in the Premier League next season.
“Yes, West Ham are interested, but nothing is decided yet. We are negotiating,” Guti exclusively told Goal.com. The midfielder played 14 times for Spain, having turned out on 542 occasions for Madrid and made 40 appearances for Besiktas. He will turn 36 in October.
