Rummenigge insists Bayern Munich still want to renew Robben’s contract
“We have no doubts about his abilities. The club are still keen to renew his contract. The recent developments have not changed that,” Rummenigge was quoted as saying by TZ. The former Germany international then reflected on Robben’s performance in Saturday’s 2-0 Bundesliga win over Kaiserslautern, and was pleased with the Dutchman’s substitute cameo. “He immediately looked dangerous after coming on. He could have scored with a bit more luck, and I really wanted him to find the net.” Robben has scored five goals in 12 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern this term.
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has made it clear that the Bundesliga giants are still keen to keep Arjen Robben at the club beyond his current contract until 2013.
The Netherlands international has lost his spot in the starting XI at Bayern, but the recent developments have not changed the Bavarians’ stance on Robben’s future at the club.
