QPR on the brink of signing Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa
QPR are on the brink of a deal for former Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa.
Manager Mark Hughes is continuing to strengthen his squad and has moved for defender Bosingwa, who has been courted by some of Europe’s elite this summer. Inter Milan, Anzhi Makhachkala and Monaco all made offers but the Portugal international has chosen to stay in London. Bosingwa joined Chelsea for around £16million four years ago and went on to win the Champions League, Barclays Premier League, three FA Cups and the Community Shield. He had previously been part of Porto’s 2004 Champions League squad. Despite being so highly-decorated, the 29-year-old came under fire for his defending throughout his Stamford Bridge career and eventually struggled to hold down a regular place in the side.
