Nigerian lawmakers banned from using mobile phones!

Lagos – Our reporters have been sent a copy of a secret memo circulated through both houses of parliament.

An ACN lawmaker smuggled the document out of the senate under his hat and has since shared it with us.

Possibly the most bizarre thing yet to come out of government, lawmakers have now been instructed to hand in their mobile phones and to refrain from obtaining new phones till their term in office is over.

Almost all lawmakers interviewed denied receiving the secret memo but not one of them was able to explain why they were without their phones.

When confronted with a copy of the memo, however, the senate president explained the official directive thus:

“We have been following scientific research in USA and abroad, and we in the senate and our younger brothers in the House of Representatives now have irrefutable information that mobile phones are very dangerous to health. That is why we have instructed our members to stop conducting any form of business on phone, be it personal or official. Or do you want your senators to die because they talk on phone?”
